March is upon us and I am hopeful that it will be a much-needed stepping stone to better days ahead. We certainly deserve it because everyone has had such a tough year. Hopefully Better Days Will Lie Ahead With the Vaccine Rollout A lot of hope, right now, comes in…

Important Things People Learned in 2020 Which Shouldn’t be Forgotten
As we go into 2021, I’m trying to look ahead with optimism. I’ve been thinking about some of the important things which people learned in 2020. Some of those things are so important that we shouldn’t leave them behind. We need to carry them forward.
Words of the Year in 2020 – Extremely Unprecedented
We’re nearing the end of the year and the only words that spring to mind are, “Thank goodness.” (Actually, there were other words, but those two are more acceptable) What a terrible year it’s been. As politicians would say, it’s been extremely unprecedented. I reckon ‘unprecedented’ must be one of the most used words this year.
Painful Pandemic Problems for People With Chronic Illness
The pandemic has brought about so many problems for so many people. Obviously, the biggest one is Covid-19 itself and the fear and anxiety attached to it. But some of the other problems have been distressing and overwhelming for people, especially amongst the chronic illness community.
How to Cope if You Feel Overwhelmed by the News
Are you feeling overwhelmed by the news right now? Feeling down? Sad? Fed up? Scared? Angry? Every emotion you have is legitimate and it’s okay to admit how you’re feeling. In fact, it’s more than okay. It’s actually important because it’s better to talk than to hold emotions inside. I’m normally an optimist. I try to be positive. I get up in the morning and put a smile on my face even though I’m in pain and I wear that smile with pride for most of the day. But recently I’ve found it hard to smile all the time. And it’s got nothing to do with my pain. There have been times when I’ve felt very overwhelmed by the news.
How to Cope With the Lockdown and Isolation During the Coronavirus Crisis
2020 has become such a frightening and worrying year, hasn’t it? The news about the coronavirus is so overwhelming that I have to try to distract myself at times. I’m coping fine with the lockdown and the isolation which comes with it because, like many other people who live with chronic health conditions, I don’t go out much anyway.
However, I know a lot of healthier people are struggling to cope with the situation. Most of them are used to living busy, active lives, therefore spending time cooped up at home is probably a difficult adjustment for them.
Thank You to the NHS and Other Essential Key Workers
The UK is now in lockdown due to the coronavirus (Covid-19). Staying home is the best place to be to stay safe, but it’s not an option for everyone. Right now, across the world, there are people who are putting themselves at risk in order to help us. The NHS staff and other essential key workers deserve a very, very big thank from all of us.
The NHS staff are amazing but they aren’t the only essential key workers. There are many people who are having to work just now to help the rest of us. Every single one of them should be shown our appreciation.
There are so many people who deserve our thanks. I can’t possibly mention them all, but I want to highlight a few.
Can We Do More to Slow Down Covid-19?
Like many people across the world, I am worried about the effects of this new form of coronavirus. Unfortunately, until there is a vaccine, it cannot be stopped. But for now, what more can be done? Is there a way to slow down Covid-19?
Covid-19 is a new virus. And I understand that nobody really knows what to do. But this is a crisis situation throughout the world and during a crisis we expect our governments to do the best they can for us. We expect the best advice from them. We expect them to learn from other countries.
