Many people find that CBD oil can help their pain, so I was very happy when a company called Swiss FX got in touch with me a few weeks ago. Swiss FX sells a variety of CBD oil products, and they very kindly gifted me with some so that I could write a review on my blog. Living with pain is difficult and medication doesn’t give 100% relief. If it did, I wouldn’t be writing this blog, would I? Amongst other things, we normally need to learn to pace ourselves, learn breathing techniques and use distractractions to help us cope with our pain. Some people who live with pain or chronic illness find that cannabis helps or eases their symptoms. Unfortunately, though, cannabis is still classed as an illegal drug here in the UK. However, CBD oil products are legal and many people find them helpful.

About the Swiss FX Company
Three childhood friends founded the Swiss FX company. They wanted to create a product that would meet their demands in terms of quality, taste and authenticity.
Swiss FX use the highest quality CBD extract to create their oil. The hemp is grown organically according to strict Bio-Suisse guidelines in Switzerland. The hemp is harvested by hand and CBD oil is produced using cold-press techniques. The Swiss FX CBD oils are totally natural – they don’t contain any colourants or preservatives and are gluten-free and vegan-friendly. About Swiss FX Products
The company has such an amazing range of CBD products. Each product clearly shows the price, the amount and the strength of CBD. They show a full list of any additional ingredients if used in the products. Those extra ingredients are also natural, gluten-free and vegan.
The Range of Swiss FX CBD Oils
They have a wide range of CBD oil in various concentrates from 5% (500mg) up to 40% (4000mg).
There is also a range called functional oils. The functional oils are 10% (1000mg) strength and contain additional essential oils, plant extracts or vitamins. Each functional oil has a specific purpose – Sleep, Focus and Protect.
Swiss FX CBD Skin Care
Swiss FX have a fabulous skincare range. They sell joint and muscle balm, lip balm, body lotion, face cream and cooling gel. As well as CBD oil, those products contain additional oils, extracts or vitamins. Each product has a fully listed ingredient list so you know exactly what you are buying.
Swiss FX CBD Oil for Dogs and Cats
Swiss FX also sell CBD oil for dogs and cats. Some people give their pets CBD oil for pain, anxiety or if they are having sleep issues. If you are considering giving cbd oil to your pets, please read the Swiss FX page about it first. Dogs and cats need a lower concentration of CBD oil, therefore, most oils for humans are not suitable. Swiss FX are knowledgeable about this and they have oils specifically formulated for dogs and cats.
The Products I Tried
Swiss FX asked me to choose products to review and I had a conundrum because they have such a good range and choice. Eventually, I chose the muscle and joint balm and the ‘Focus’ functional oil.
Before I share my experience with the products, I just want to say that CBD will affect everyone differently. Some people might find it benefits them greatly, while others might not find any benefits. The same can be said for any treatment or medication.
Swiss FX CBD Muscle and Joint Balm

A beautiful box contained a small dark glass jar of muscle and joint balm. The jar costs £34.95 and contains 50ml of balm. 50ml might not sound a lot, but, even if used daily, it will last for a very long time as you only need to use a small amount at a time.
The balm contains hemp extract (CBD – 450mg per jar) along with almond oil, lanolin, beeswax, shea butter, olive extract, pomegranate extract, blueberry extract, vitamin E acetate, geraniol, citronella, alpha-isomethyl ionone and lemon extract.
My Experience
The balm has a very nice scent – a soft lemon fragrance. I am quite sensitive to smells and I don’t think it’s overpowering at all. As it contains ingredients like almond oil, beeswax and shea butter, you’d expect it to be fairly greasy. It is initially but I found that my skin absorbed it fairly quickly.
I live with aches and pains almost everywhere so I wasn’t short of places to try the balm. Although massaging the painful areas felt good at the time, unfortunately, I didn’t really find it helped my pain.
The website states, “Our muscle and joint balm provides optimal relief for tired limbs and muscles, be it after a busy day or exercising.” So perhaps it’s not really aimed at people like me who live with constant pain. However, I don’t want to put people off trying it. Other people might find it helpful.
I will say that the balm has left my skin feeling lovely and soft. I have fairly dry skin and my hands, feet and knees have never felt so soft. The balm is obviously feeding my skin with some excellent nutrients which must be helping me in some way so I will continue to use it as part of my self-care routine.
Swiss FX Functional CBD Oil – Focus

The Focus oil arrived inside another beautifully designed box. I love the packaging! The bottle contains 10ml of Focus oil (about 250 drops). It costs £59.95. Instructions for use are on the box – they suggest putting four drops of the Focus oil under the tongue daily. So, if it was used daily, the bottle could last for approximately two months.
Focus is a combination of 1000mg of CBD oil, Melissa extract, vitamin D and MCT oil (a saturated fatty acid found in coconut oil).
My Experience
Melissa oil is an essential oil which is known to have many properties. It can be a mood lifter for some people. It is also known as lemon balm oil and, as the name suggests, it has a lemon scent and gives the CBD oil a pleasant lemon flavour. I have found some CBD oils have a bitter taste, so I much preferred using the Swiss FX Focus CBD oil.
When you’re living with pain or chronic illness, life can get difficult. I thought (and hoped) that the Focus blend would give me a boost. On the days that I used it, I think it maybe did that.
Constant pain, and the frustrations of dealing with it, can lower my mood at times. It can also get in the way of my thinking and I lose concentration easily. I noticed that when I used the Focus oil, I was more able to focus on what I was wanting to do and I also felt as though I had a bit more enthusiasm than I’ve had of late.
I don’t want to make claims that might not be true. Maybe it was because I was hoping it would work. Maybe I was just having a few better days. Or maybe my morning cuppa did the trick. Who knows?
All I can say is how I felt and, mentally, I felt quite good. My pain didn’t change but my mood and attitude seemed to change so I will continue to use it.

My Final Thoughts

When looking at CBD oil, I would always say two things are important to me – the quality and the strength. A low stregnth oil might help some things, but I have personally found that for my pain, I need a higher strength.
I believe that Swiss FX is very good quality and they sell an extremely wide range of strengths. It’s not cheap, but good quality CBD oil is not cheap anywhere. (If it’s cheap, it is possibly low grade quality with a lower stregth of CBD.)
Like every medication, supplement and alternative therapy, people will always have a different experience. Some people might benefit from them, while others might experience nothing at all. In my opinion, CBD is worth trying. And I think that Swiss FX is a company worth buying it from.
